Seeing Conveyors in a Different Light

Some operations are addressing that challenge by having a baseline IR inspection performed and then taking yearly or quarterly readings to track any changes over time. Inspections are made while the plant is in operation. Infrared images are collected of all major motors, bearings and gearboxes, and any smaller components that are showing signs of wear are noted (such as idlers).
