In March 2019, ESMA, the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, has notified World Trade Organization (WTO) of the revisions of its regulations ESMA 5010.1 and 5010.5 for residential and commercial air conditioners. It is time to reflect on the regulatory situation in one of the most complex regions in the world.
