Shuangliang Wins Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award

Shuangliang won the second prize of the 2019 China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award, for its project of applying technology to provide winter heating and power supply while balancing demand optimization in northern cities and counties. With urbanization development, northern cities in China have expanded their centralized heating areas, and electric power plants have been confronted with insufficient heating supply capacities. Shuangliang's absorption chiller technology uses the primary network of hot water supplied by the power plant as a heat source to reduce the return temperature of the heating network, increasing the temperature difference between the primary and secondary supply and return water. Under conditions with the same hot water volume, heating pipe networks will have a largely enhanced heat transmission capacity, making long-distance heat transmission possible. Currently, this technology has been widely applied in long-distance pipe network heat transmission in the cities of Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, and Yinchuan.
