Without Warning~(TM) Lessons Learned in the Development and Implementation of an Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease Program

摘要

Few programs have been developed to meet the needs of those living with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. In 2004, we began Without Warning~(TM) and have since led a daylong seminar, 57 family meetings, 3 events for children younger than 18 years, 3 events for adult children, and numerous social events for the whole family. We have studied the impact of this disease on the entire family and the importance of a strong, organized program. More work is desperately needed to continue to address the needs of this population and to fill the huge gap in services our country currently faces.
