摘要

Common technology for the production of automotive heat exchanger units and for HVAC&R is the ustilization of multi-micro-port extruded tubes (MPE). In recent years the already existing folded tube technology for the production of automotive condenser tubing was established by multiple folding of a flat aluminium sheet mainly to reduce production costs. In parallel the requirements for the performance of these MPE tubes are continuously increasing e.g. to best serve the automotive industry for light weight cars and energy saving. Within the framework of this paper examples of such high performance MPE designs will be shown. Also limitations and advantages of extruded and folded product technologies will be further discussed.
