Unobserved Fall Events of Elderly Patients with Multimorbidity-Emergency Calls with Often Difficult Assessment and Case-Management

摘要

During the emergency treatment of a fallen older man the initial examination of the patient, the exploration of the medical history and the change of symptoms in the course of time led to several suspected diagnoses concerning different medical disciplines. The case report shows the problems caused by multimorbidity in the treatment of older patients. Finally the extended clinical diagnosis revealed the dislocation of a pacemaker-electrode with resulting rhythmogenic syncope as the leading cause of fall.
