Reactions of Alkenes with Sodium Perborate and Sodium Chloride

摘要

Sodium perborate oxidatively chlorinates a variety of alkenes with sodium chloride to form the corresponding chloro derivatives under mild conditions.Sodium perborate (NaBO_3.nH_2O,n=1-4) has been found to be an excellent reagent for the oxidation of a wide class of organic compounds.It is an inexpensive,stable and easily handled oxidant and is often used in acetic acid or other carboxylic acids in synthesis.
