Letter to the Editor:Invitation to the inaugural symposium of the 'European society of ophthalmic anaesthesia' in Engelberg, Switzerland December 5th & 6th, 2019

In the last issue of this journal we laid out for colleagues our opinions on the necessity to improve anaesthesia for ophthalmic surgery patients [1]. To follow suit to our ,,Call to action" in these pages, we are happy to invite all interested colleagues to the inaugural congress of the budding ? European society of ophthalmic anaesthesia". Delegates will have the occasion to learn new, safer regional blocks as well many other skills to take better care of patients ranging from babies to very old & frail patients (see preliminary program). International faculty will present state-of-the-art knowledge from the field in presentations and practical instruction.
