International consensus symposium on guidelines for the management of the difficult airway in Salamanca, Spain, October 4—5, 2018

As the president of the organizing committee, I am pleased to inform the esteemed reader of TACC that throughout 2018 the city of Salamanca (Spain) will host the celebration of the 800th anniversary of its University, a milestone of exceptional public interest. The Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation of the University Hospital of Salamanca and the Faculty of Medicine will take part in the 800th anniversary official celebrations by organizing a conference aimed at bringing together experts from Anaesthesiology Societies to discuss guidelines and algorithms for the management of the difficult airway (www. viaaereasalamanaca2018.com). It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in this project that will take place between the 4th and 5th of October 2018. The focus of the conference will be to address the methods and perspectives that have made possible the development of practice guidelines for the management of the difficult airway. The specific objective of our discussions will be to promote a debate about airway management guidelines of different scientific societies and what these have in common.
