In the Moment: The Sports Photography of Tom Jenkins

'YOU MAKE your own luck. This is as true for a photographer as it is for an athlete.' So says Richard Williams, chief sports writer at The Guardian in his introduction to sports photographer Tom Jenkins' superb book. He has a point, because photography is as much about seizing opportunities as it is about waiting patiently for them to present themselves. Or in the words of former England rugby union player Jonny Wilkinson OBE, 'Sports photography is about being in the right place at the right time and being able to tell the story of that moment.'
