Goldman Sachs predicts that the augmented reality(AR) industry will become an $80-B market by 2025.At first glance,this is probably not a startling number-not when you consider the size of the entertainment industry and how immersed ARhas become in video games,movies and the various ways it is being used by smartphone apps.Serious scenarios exist for AR,which is about to disrupt the oil and gas industry in ways that likely will not receive the same amount of attention culturally as the Pokemon Go craze.However,it will go a long way toward solving some key challenges and providing significant cost savings.
