Smarter growing under glass

There is something of a revolution going on in glasshouse building. Driven by the need for resilience to climate change and for food security reasons, major projects are underway across the world. In Kentucky, USA, the 25ha AppHarvest greenhouse is under construction. In Oneida, New York, 26ha have been erected by Havecon for Mastronardi Produce on its Green Empire Farms site. There is more construction in Canada. In Ontario, vegetable greenhouse growers report "unprecedented growth", with 100-120hanew-build expected this year.
