Programme will lead to adoption of a green-space strategy covering three boroughs.Some local authorities' response to austerity has been to merge. In Dorset, Bournemouth, Christ-church and Poole, borough councils started the 2019 financial year as one entity—Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole (BCP) Council—as part of a county-wide reorganisation. Dorset County Council and the second-tier authorities of East Dorset, North Dorset, Purbeck, West Dorset and Weymouth and Portland are also joining together to make a unitary authority—Dorset Council.
