New reports on the future of peat in the British Isles have been launched or are being prepared as legislators examine how to deal with environmental issues caused by extracting the resource. The UK Government will probably now launch a peat strategyin early 2020. Defra is now advising use of peat-frees by amateur gardeners, an area for which suppliers have been increasingly catering with a series of new product developments this year.
