The New Plant Awards at the National Plant Show have attracted 1,000 entries in their first decade, according to the HTA, including more than 100 in 2019. Begonia 'Glowing Embers' was the first winner, in 2010, and Allensmore Nurseries has grown 250,000 since its first-year exclusive. There have been 500,000-plus of the 10 new plant winners grown combined so far, showing the power an award can give to a new plant.
