One recent note about using DE (or Diatomaceous earth) for slug control brought us letters asking for more information. Question: Can DE, obtained from a pool supply house, be used for controlling slugs, or is some special manufacturing process needed to make DE effective? Answer: It can be used. Scatter it around the area where slugs congregate. They crawl over it and the small spikes puncture the skin and kill the slugs.
