Growing Tomatoes Indoors During the Winter

We live in western New York state, in the Finger Lakes region, about one half mile from Seneca Lake. We built our passive solar house in 1982, and in 1983 we moved in. The house includes a large, long room along the south, with the east end being theliving room, the west being the kitchen and dining area, and in the middle there is a sunken area adjacent to the polycarbonate solar panels. Thesunken area is enclosed oy snort oricK walls that surround a slate floor, and the brick and slate make up a heat sink that serves to store some of the day's heat to carry over into the night. That part of the house forms a sort of solar greenhouse, which differs in a number of ways from the greenhouses that most Hobby Greenhouse members have.
