Reflecting on a career in the show ring

Nearly forever, certainly for as long as I can recall, the show ring has always had its critics. Some of this reasoning has been from progressive operators who believe all that fancy and flamboyant razzmatazz is completely well away from reality. Also, that the glitz and make-up within the preparation and presentation offers a false and misleading perspective. Well, there may be some element of truth within their view but showing has stood the test of time to such an extent that it is still a well-supported activity and serves as a great promotion of the food and farming industry.
