When it comes to UK workers and employers accessing an occupational health service, there may be trouble ahead. Last year, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Occupational Safety and Health warned of the "occupational medicine workforce crisis" and the need for action to keep UK workers healthy. The problem is exacerbated by the number of occupational health training posts being whittled away to half as many as there used to be, when two-thirds of specialists are aged over 50 and approaching retirement.
