New safety apprenticeship for major hazard sectors nears approval

Employers including Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Transport for London are backing a new masters-level apprenticeship in risk and safety management, which could offer government funding of up to 27,000 pounds per trainee. Around 50 to 100 staff a year in high hazard industries are expected to undertake the new qualification, which has been approved by the government as one of a new breed of employer-led apprenticeship standards.
