Firstly,Cuban state oil company CUPET is planning to hold an offshore bid round in April this year, with 24 blocks on offer. The acreage,in Cuba’s Exclusive Economic Zone in the Gulf of Mexico,is covered by 21,000 km of 2D data acquired by BGP in 2016-17. Meanwhile, the Trinidad and Tobago authorities are considering the launch of a deepwater licensing round upon completion of the current shallow-water offering, which is due for completion in May. Multi-client 2D data being collected by SOOSC’s Discoverer 2 would be used in the proposed round. The survey for MultiClient Geophysical has already involved a regional grid of 11,913 km,with BGP Challenger acquiring the first 3,600 km of data. Discoverer 2 is reportedly halfway through a 2,074-km survey north of Tobago;a 2,576 km shoot off Grenada completes the programme.
