The Middle East jackup market remains strong.Already on the books for 2020,six units are scheduled to mobilise to the region,all of which have contracts in place.Marketed contracted utilisation came in at a healthy 84.8% last month,which has helped allow day rates to rise considerably over the past year.And following up from last month's string of short-term extensions by Saudi Aramco,the operator is expected to extend the same units again,this time until the end of the year.The operator has eight units scheduled to roll off contract by the end of October followed by six more before the end of the year.It is still yet to be seen how many rigs will stay in the fleet in 2020.In Qatar,a number of tenders are ongoing,as well as in Abu Dhabi,and Oman.
