摘要

Indonesia is no longer in any rush to import LNG. Less than two years ago, the government was forecasting gas shortages as early as 2019, with the gap to be plugged by term LNG contracts for over 3 million tons per year, of which some 2 million tons/yr starts next year (WGI Jul.26' 17). But with gas demand growing more slowly than envisaged, partly because coal is making greater inroads in the power mix, latest government forecasts don't envisage shortages before the mid-2020s, and the LNG imports will likely be traded, swapped or resold, market players say (WGI Feb.22'17). "The government has no plans to import gas at this moment," an energy ministry official told Energy Intelligence.
