THE SEARCH FOR higher yields and productivity in shore-based processing factories as well as the need to address labour costs has driven seafood companies in search of new ways of working as well as investing in the latest technology.One good example can be found in Ireland. There, the country's Seafood Development Agency, BIM, has developed a resource efficiency guide for seafood processors. BIM's mission is to grow a thriving Irish seafood industry and expand and develop the raw material base, add value and develop the supply chain.
