Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology by which electric power is transmitted along with data signals using twistedpair Ethernet cabling. This technology has emerged as a key powering approach to eliminate the needs of additional wiring installation and saving on cost for cabling material, labor and administration. Currently, PoE cables are widely used for VoIP phones, security cameras, wireless access points and access controls, etc. LED lighting is another focus for PoE, especially for modern building constructions. Highest growth areas for PoE are projects including PoE to Desk, Wireless Access Points and Lighting and Security Cameras.
