1.1 The upper reaches of Himalayan mountains experience heavy snow fall. Some of the mountains are covered with snow to the extent of 15 to 20 meters or more. The temperature in winter goes to -40°C to -60°C. In summer this temperature goes up to from 15°C to 30°C.
