William Henry Dines - a blue plaque commemoration

Portrait of W. H. Dines. Colne House in Benson, where Dines lived and worked from 1913. Exhibition in the Parish Hall, showing two modern rain gauges of the tipping bucket type, along with photographs of Dines's instruments. The exhibition also included images of where Dines had lived and maps of Colne house and its surroundings. Dines's tilting siphon recording rain gauge being set up for exhibition in the Parish Hall by one of the main organisers of the event, Sue Cooper. The blue plaque on the wall of the Old Barn in Brook Street, near to Observatory Close, where Colne house once stood. Steve Poole, great grandson of W. H.
