THOUGH THE fifth-generation Polo was produced for an impressive eight years, the pair of GTI models it spawned were very different. The first, the '6R' Polo GTI, appeared in February 2010, and featured even more Golf GTI styling cues than the 9N3. Billed as the 'the fastest, most locussed and cleanest performance Polo yet', the 6R now packed 180 PS, thanks to a 1.4-litre supercharged and turbocharged TSI petrol engine and DSG transmission.
