UK investment firm buys Priden Engineering

UK - A UK-focussed private equity company, Elaghmore Partners of Leamington Spa, has acquired specialist transport engineering firm, Priden Engineering Ltd (Priden) of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, for an undisclosed multi-million-pound sum. Founded in 1988, Priden Engineering manufactures specialist trailers and commercial truck bodies, as well as a complete range of aluminium and stainless steel products for a range of other commercial vehicles including the bus and coach sector. It is a major supplier of blowing equipment to the animal feed sector and recently it formed a financial services arm for customers of its truck and trailer division. It has also a Food Industrial Engineering division, which provides stainless steel systems for the food industry such as individual machines and full production lines. The business has four factories situated on more than four acres and a 100-strong workforce. Elaghmore says it has bought Priden from its management who are to remain with the business.
