USA - A collaboration between Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana and emission control software developer, Tula Technology Inc of San Jose, California, has resulted in a technical demonstration of Tula's diesel Dynamic Skip Fire (dDSF) software in a Cummins X15 engine, which controls cylinder deactivation, and thereby achieving significant reductions in emissions and fuel consumption in Cummins' diesel engine. R. Scott Bailey, president and CEO of Tula Technology said: "Our partnership with Cummins has given us the opportunity to expand our DSF technology beyond its success in gasoline (petrol) engines. Demonstrating the capability to improve fuel efficiency while also achieving very effective emissions control is extremely important for all diesel engine applications in the future."
