Race Mountain Tree Services Career Day 2017

On January 31, 2017, 45 students from four nearby high schools came to the Race Mountain Tree Services, Inc., for Race Mountain's second Career Day, which they plan to be an annual event. In attendance were:teacher Chris Brittain with students from Wamogo Regional High School, Litchfield, Connecticut;teacher David Moran with students from Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Falls Village, Conn.;teacher Bill Florek and guidance counselor Mike Powell with students from Monument Mountain Regional High School, Great Barrington, Massachusetts; andteacher Kimberly Conant with students from Mt. Everett Regional High School, Sheffield, Mass.They first spent time indoors hearing about commercial arboriculture from Ron Yaple, arborist and president of Race Mountain Tree Services, a 17-year TCIA member company based in Sheffield,Mass., and Peter Moritz, owner of Acorn Tree Care in Litchfield, Conn.
