Clariant Sells Its Plastics Masterbatch Business to PolyOne for SUS 1.56 bn

Clariant AG (headquartered in Muttenz, about 6 km from Basel city-centre, Switzerland) is one of the world's top five masterbatch suppliers, with 46 plants and technical centres in 29 different countries, employing about 3600 people. Clariant is also the world's largest producer of organic pigments. Back in September 2018, Clariant declared its intention to "upgrade its portfolio" by divesting its organic pigments business, its plastics masterbatch business and its healthcare packaging business so as to focus its efforts on its core competencies in: food additives, industrial biotechnology, catalysts, biofuels and value-added specialty chemicals and minerals for the oil, mining, food and packaging industries.
