Motorized steerable scanner performs remote weld inspection, corrosion mapping

Olympus has added a motorized steerable scanner to its line of systems for ultrasonic and phased array testing. The field-tested, remote-controlled SteerROVER~(TM) scanner performs circumferential weld inspection and corrosion mapping using a raster arm. The unit is operated by a touchscreen, hand-held remote control, and the operator collects ultrasonic data using a compatible instrument, such as a flaw detector or phased array data acquisition unit.
