Organic Pioneers

摘要

From its earliest days the organic movement has been populated by inspiring pioneers who were concerned about the health implications of increasingly intensive farming systems. Following the Second World War the Soil Association itself was founded in1946 on concerns about loss of soil through erosion and depletion, decreased nutritional quality of food, exploitation of animals and impact on the countryside and wildlife. Lady Eve Balfour was one of the first pioneers.
