Daffodils in the Time of Corona Virus: A Conversation with Robert Darling

THIS SPRING I spoke with my colleague and daffodil friend, Robert Darling, who had helped design a planting of daffodils to cascade down the Spanish Steps in the Nation's Capital. (This was featured in a December 2019 article in the ADS Daffodil Journal.)We mused about the times we are facing now, and began to speak about our shared passion: daffodils. We began, as friends do these days, by checking in on each other. Robert and wife Mary have isolated themselves in their country home in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, while my partner and I have been hunkered down as best as we are able in downtown Washington DC and with a dog that needs walking. How are we experiencing time and daffodils? And what can daffodils teach us about what we are facing today?
