The cashew Industry in the Country is now at cross roads and a careful understanding of its position in the changing global scenario is the need of the hour. When I set up my first unit in 1987, the industry was well on its path of sustenance due to fragmentation and all factories were of processing size-3-5 MT/day. Today, after a good 25 years, the situation is quite the reverse and is one of consolidation. The concept of "small is beautiful" is no longer the buzz word and today only the big can survive now.
