For more than 50 years, billy cook has been making saddles full-time.And for more than 50 years, the celebrated saddler has had a full-time side business breeding American Quarter Horses. He spends his weeks in Sulphur, Oklahoma, taking care of his saddle business, then returns to his home in Greenville, Texas, just southon Interstate 35, on weekends, when he manages his horse business.That's a lot of work, but Billy has never been afraid of hard work.And after 50 years, he's not low on opinions about breeding, and he's not short on stories about the horse business.One rainy afternoon, though, he took some time off to drive his pickup through his horse herd and share some a few of his memories and thoughts on life.
