A magnetic resonance tomography procedure takes a selected overview cut of the whole object, records a marking input for a first field of view (FOVa) to be measured and widens (bneu) the first image region by parallel projection in its phase coding directions into a second oversampled field of view (FOVb neu) that includes the first and is aliasing free within it. Independent claims are included for: (1) a magnetic resonance tomography unit; (2) a computer software product using the procedure.
