Double-digit growth for DuPont's agrochemicals

DuPont's crop protection sales grew by more than 10% in the second quarter of 2007.The revenue gains were driven by higher volumes of herbicides for maize and small-grain cereals,along with strong insecticide and fungicide businesses.Earnings rose "significantly" due to the broad-based sales increase,the company says.For the first half of the year,sales growth was comparable to that of the global market.Growth was driven by the increased European cereal area,with especially strong markets in Germany and central and eastern Europe.
