The International Standard UNI EN ISO 10075-1:2018 "Ergonomie principles related to mental workload - Part 1: General issues and concepts, terms and definitions", represents an extension of ISO 6385:2014 "Ergonomics principles in the design of work systems", with attention to the mental load, present also in operative contexts with prevalent physical effort. In particular, concepts related to the conditions of mental stress, subjective mental strain and their specific consequences have been clarified to counter a terminology widely used in a generic way, both in the daily life and in the work environment.
