US approval for Arkema's Paladin

French chemical company Arkema's US subsidiary, Arkema Inc (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), has received US approval for its soil fumigant, Paladin (dimethyl disulfide). The EPA proposed the registration of two formulations of the fumigant in May (Agrow No 593, p 16). Paladin will be marketed in the US by United Phosphorus, which has been involved in the evaluation of the fumigant under experimental use permits in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina since 2007 (Agrow No 521, p 18).
