Background: The population of cancer survivors continues to increase owing to giant strides in cancer treatment and early detection strategies. The growing numbers of cancer survivors in the setting of shortages among trained oncology specialists predicates a need for greater coordination of post-treatment care between oncologists and primary care physicians.
