USDA revises GMO approval process

The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has introduced a new system to allow more opportunities for public comment on applications to deregulate genetically modified crops. The new approach allows an early opportunity to comment on a deregulation petition and a further chance to comment on the APHIS' decision making.
