No MON810 adverse effects says EFSA

Commercial cultivation of Monsanto's genetically modified insect-resistant M0N810 maize in the EU in 2010 had no adverse effects on health or the environment, says the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The conclusion is based on an assessment of the annual post-market environmental monitoring report submitted by the company. Nevertheless, the EFSA has called for improvements to be made to the methodology used for the monitoring.
