Brazilian agrochemical market nears $8.5 billion

The Brazilian agrochemical market grew by 10.9% in national currency terms last year, according to the national agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindag. Its updated figures show sales reached R$14,070 million. In US dollars, growth was greater at 16.2%, rising to some $8,488 million. The market was recently reported as having risen by an estimated 4% in national currency and 9% in US dollar terms, just breaching the US$8,000 million mark (Agrow No 634, p 14).
