A comprehensive review of Thermal Spray coating for Coal Fired Power Plants

摘要

Erosion high temperature wear of ID fans inside coal fired power plants have become a major problem in the design and function of thermal power pants. The cost of maintenance for replacing ID fans is also very high. One possible solution to these problems is to use a thin antiwear and anti-oxidation coating with good thermal conductivity, such as a thermal spray coating. Therfore, the improvement of wear and the very high temperature oxideation defense system in industrial and coal fired boilers is a very imperative subject from the financial and engineering point of view. This article attempts to discuss one possible approach to preventing this by using a thermal spray coating. The introduction of thermal spraying method had been reported emphasize the advantages over different other types of coating process. Three types of Thermal spraying coating processes, plasma spraying, high velocity oxy fuel (HVOF), and Detonation gun (D-gun), enclose briefly discussed to compare their relative advantages. This paper also presents a comparison of the performance and field applications of these processes.
