INTERNATIONAL MILL ACTIVITY

Nippon Steel has announced they will shutter the UO pipe mill at the Kashima works nearTokyo. It is expected to be close by the end of October 2019. They will continue to operate the500,000 ton UO mill at Kimitsu. Nippon attributed the closure to a decline in orders.Tubos Argentinos has upgraded the line pipe and structural mill at their Talar plant byincreasing the size range from 5” to 10” diameter. The mill can now produce up to 6,000 MT’s ofpipe per month.
