The ACC-CPI Spray Foam Coalition recently completed a study to evaluate the thermal performance of open-cell spray polyurethane foam (ocSPF) when conditioned up to 180 days (6 months) after spraying. This study, performed on four commercially available ocSPF products, showed thermal performance, measured as thermal resistivity or R-value per inch per ASTM C518, will stabilize within 30 days after spraying. These results suggest that traditional 180 day conditioning used prior to thermal testing may not be needed for ocSPF products.
