New structural realignment plans unveiled

Just over half a year after regrouping business activities into six newly defined segments, BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) on 27 June 2019 announced a more radical scheme to streamline management functions and the workforce, with an eye towards achieving EUR 300m in annual savings. It is not yet clear how much of the realignment that took hold in January 2019 will be kept, but most of the changes follow the pattern sketched by CEO Martin Brudermiiller in November 2018.
