摘要

This paper examines the leadership processes and resulting actions leading to the transformation of the University of Tennessee Libraries. Transformation is needed to address the massive changes experienced in higher education, schol-arly communication, and the characteristics of the current generation of students and scholars. The paper documents why the changes are necessary, the process of developing study groups to examine specific areas needing change, and major initiatives implemented thus far in the transformation process.
